I created this original paper sculpture of a brown bear in a forest by painting heavy duty watercolor paper with acrylic paint and then cutting and layering each piece to create depth. The result is a whimsical, one of a kind piece that would look great in any room, but especially in a woodland nursery or a cabin.

The colors would really pop in a white shadowbox. (not included) See photos for ideas for matting and framing. It has an approximate 1/8″ white border which can be trimmed if necessary for framing.

Wedding Wine Glasses For The Bride And Groom

 

This is a set of two (2) mint green wine glasses that have been painted with deep red and white roses. I attached a sprig of tiny white seed beads to the stem of each glass with a white ribbon. What a lovely set of glasses for the wedding toast. And then a cherished keepsake from the wedding day. These would be a unique bridal shower gift. Or treat yourself, you deserve it.

These goblets were painted with non-toxic acrylic enamel so they are perfectly safe to use. I heat set the paint so it is quite durable. The manufacturer of paint states ‘top rack dishwasher safe’, I would highly suggest gentle hand wash, just as you would any other special piece you may have. The ribbon is not secured so just untie it to remove before washing.

Description:  This is a print of a detailed section of a 2011 painting I did on canvas with acrylic, pastel, and ink. Though the painting is not completely finished, I find that this section in itself can be considered a separate painting. The full title of the painting is “If my Thought Dreams Could be Seen, They’d Probably Put my Head in a Guillotine”, which is a line from a Bob Dylan song. The painting is 5ft x 6ft and it portrays a statement on the treatment of women in modern society and how their looks are valued more than their thoughts and opinions. The print is on glossy photo paper and is 8.5in x 11in.

Red Holiday Sled with Penguins and An Igloo

1950’s Vintage Golden Ballerina Brooch Pin

Description: The graceful movement of a ballerina is perfectly captured in this lovely pin, circa 1950.

It is 2″ long by 1 3/4″ wide .
Non magnetic golden material.
Clasp is a little tight, but works properly.
There is some slight wear to the finish at the tip of the toes and very top of the head. Noticable only very close up in proper light.

Overall very good vintage/used condition.

1960’s Kenneth Jay Lane KJL Vintage Brooch and Pendant Large Rhinestone Star

Description: 1960’s KENNETH JAY LANE KJL STAR BROOCH PENDANT LARGE

Kenneth Jay Lane Signed (K.J.L.) Brooch / Pin Pendant from the 1960’s

This rare Kenneth Jay Lane Brooch/Pendant is a stunning statement piece. It is in excellent condition, and is signed K.J.L. This is an early Lane mark, from the 1960’s.
The center of the star is nicely cut pave rhinestones, and is lifted a bit from the frame, giving dimension. The additional smaller points of the star are just at bottom of the frame level and also pave rhinestones. The piece is framed in a gold tone. Pin closure operates properly, and there is a hook to enable use as a pendant as well.

A truly beautiful piece which will undoubtedly continue to increase in value.

Thursday is here and once again I rearranged the blog a little bit.  Tuesday we had a featured artist, so today the gifts to give are up!
