Featured Artists – How To Use The CraftStar Site

Good Morning,

Monday’s post discussed a new venue The CraftStar.  Today I thought we would have a look at some of the other features and how to use The CraftStar site.

When you arrive at the site you will be greeted by the Greeting Page, scroll through the page or click Shop at the top of the page.

You will be taken to the Home Page

 Here is your navigation window into the site.  You May Search or share from the convenient links at the top left of the page.  If you’re already a member / seller you can choose to login and Join The Discussion, see what’s happening on the Forums or in your favorite Club Thread on the Chat Boards.

Here I would like to make a note:  The JOIN link is for sellers, you will be asked for a fee ($%.00 a month).  If you continue down the page you will see under the marquis the link Newsletter, if you would like to see what’s going on, shop or just keep up to date on the latest events and sales sign up and you can cruise the site for free.

The Search Products bar is just that, type in an item you are searching for and be taken to a page full of your specific item.    Here I have searched for Bracelets.

Click the SHOP button will switch you from a list of items to a list of shops, if you know which shop you’re looking for you can find it here, or take a chance and click on a store you have not visited before or looks like it might be you style.

 The side bar menu is your best friend here on the site.
You may search, select and click your way through a variety of neat things to look at on site.

Collective: A shop with a theme, various artists will have an item ranging from jewelry to other handcrafted items. 

Sales – Check it out and see what is on discount or if that item you’ve had your eye on has been reduced.

Collections – Lists of favorite items by the members of The CraftStar

Shops – A quick way to hit the shop the list and see what’s new or find your favorite.

Handmade – This is a block of recently listed handmade items for sale.

Vintage – This is a block of Vintage items recently listed for sale.

Supplies – Shops that sell things you need to make your goodies.

All items – every item that has been listed for sale on the site over the course of the day, week, month.

If you continue to scroll you will find block of items, videos, and a menu list of categories that you can click and visit shops or just look at the items.

Shop pages are easily navigated and many have featured items, like Yankee Burrow

Tomorrow is Shop Small Business Saturday,  The Alchemists Vessel is pleased and very excited to participate in this year’s event.

Cole Road on Fairview, take a right into the lot.  Taco Veloz has great Mexican Food, too!

Sunday November 24, 2013 – The Parents are arriving from California, the store will be open after 1:00 p.m., I must retrieve them from the Airport.

**We will be closed until Friday November 29, 2013.  We discussed being open Wednesday, November 27, but people want to be with their families, and Thursday November 28 is Thanksgiving.  We will return Friday, November 29, 2013.

Saturday, November 30, 2013, is Shop Small Business Saturday.  We are listed with Shop Small Saturday and included in their lists of places to shop.  We have lovely things on the shelves, framed photographs, jewelry, hand-knit cozy comfy scarves, rings, earrings, and best of all, it is all handmade.  Be the coolest person at Christmas with the best gifts ever!  

Please stop by and support your local artists and businesses.  Wherever you decide to shop, we hope it is with an independent business and not a corporate conglomerate.

Holiday Announcements

Good Morning,

Thursday’s are usual reserved for a featured artist.  Since I do not have a participant today, I thought we would put the Holiday Schedule of sorts up.

Little Shop of Artists will be closed Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013, Thursday.

We would like to encourage you to not rush out with the throngs and push and shove, spending your valuable time vying for that over-priced mass-manufactured item, and instead spend that time with family and friends.  Those “sales” really aren’t sales and handmade items from your local business are so much better!

Please feel free to share this photo wherever you may post.  I think it is so important to NOT feed the greed machine.

I made an error, last weekend, November 02, 2013, I mistakenly thought was Shop Small Business Saturday, no sir, no indeed. The correct date for this years Shop Small Business Saturday is November 30th, 2013.  Stay home for the holiday and visit your local businesses on the weekend.  Those independently owned and operated businesses can only be successful and survive if you, the customer, shop’s there.  Why  line the pockets of faceless greedy corporations that do nothing for their workers and have no heart or soul?  Give your money to those that truly deserve it, those that struggle to make ends meet, those that have small corner shops with lovely items in the window, Cottage Industries that need you more than Target or Walmart or Macy’s does, and their products are usually better than those you can find on the Chain Store rack.

Good Morning,

Today I thought I’d give a brief schedule of what is happening at the shop over the next month or so.

Sunday, October 27th – Guest Tarot Reader, Lucritia Burchette will be in the shop.  Note – this may be re-scheduled, please call the shop to be sure appointments are still open and your preferred time available.

Thursday, October 31, 2013 is Halloween – the Shop will be open.

Saturday, November 02, 2013, is “Shop Small Business Saturday”, Little Shop of Artists will be having a sale and would like to invite you to come take a look at all the beautiful items displayed and ready for a good home, yours.

A great way to support your local businesses, and hometown artists and crafts people.  We’d love to see you there.  Mention this blog post or that you have seen the Shop Small flier and get a surprise.
