Be Lucky – Featrued Artists, Wednesday

Good Morning,

Wednesday arrives and so to does a new shop.  Hey Be Lucky.
I have been so busy this week that I have not had time to organize a Studio post, so this week will be devoted to featured Artists and their work.

Hey Be Lucky is owned by Teriell and Olivia, from Talinn, Estonia. Olivia is the artists and Teriell the muscle!  They work in concert to create and bring Olivia’s drawings to life.

Rarely do I gush, but I love this woman’s art style, cute, whimsical and brings a fun flair to the unique jewelry, cards, and prints of her work.

Featured Artist Yankee Burrow Creations

Good Morning,

Today I am happy to  introduce you all to a wonderful Artist from the handmadeartists.com

Yankee Burrow Creations

A mother and daughter team of very talented and creative people.  Debbi is a stay-at-home artist / grandmother, and Amanda holds a degree in Graphic Design, and designs all the banners and graphics for the shop and blog.  They offer hand-crafted home decor, and more, this shop has it all.  Lots of unique and interesting things for your home, or gifts when you want something that is special.  These gals are fun, friendly and as Debbi puts it, “having the time of her life”, and it shows in their work.

The shop has some fabulous items, let’s have a peek.

Reverse Silhouette Painting on Glass

Product Details:  This reverse silhouette painting came about when I found this frame.  It has a small chip giving it a vintage feel.  And when I came across this shape of a Holly Hobby girl in one of my vintage cross stitch pattern books, I knew it needed to be created.  I painted the silhouette on the glass, and then just flipped and added a spacer between the glass and the back, and here she is…a 7×9 beauty.

Isn’t this gorgeous!  What a fabulous decoration for  in-door / out-door color this fall!  What a wonderful way to Welcome guests for Thanksgiving!

Straw Fall Floral Wreath with Pine cone

Product Details:  A straw wreath wrapped with a 2″ rust ribbon and bow to accent the yellow and orange silk sunflowers.   Then I added some leaves, berries, and a pine cone to bring the beauty of fall into your home.  The wreath measures 15″ across and is 4 1/2″ deep.

Isn’t this pretty and different.  Would make a great gift for a Costal dweller or someone that just loves nature.

Golden Sea Shell Beaded Necklace

Product Details:  I found this golden sea shell in our local consignment shop, and it was just begging for a new life.  So I added some beautiful glass beads and a gold tone lobster claw clasp, and now it’s the focal point of this princess lenght necklaces.  It measures 19″ from end to end.
All our jewelry is shipped free in the USA.

Here is a very brief tutorial on how to tie Slip or Sliding knots for those Boho Macrame fashions you’ve been wearing.

The instructions are presented in pictures, the link will take you to another blog page for instructions.
As many of you know I have a passion for all things Monster and Macabre, my very talented friend creates some of my favorites.
Many of you may remember those fun little macabre monsters from last year, “Twisted Little Things”, and there are more to be had (finally!).  Four new Heads of State for your collection, available through Etsy.

Find them at: Twisted Little Things
Aren’t they, um, cute?

Myoats is an online drawing program that allows you create beautiful designs with your mouse.
This is not mine, I nabbed it from the gallery as an example.  Change the color, background, lines and shapes to create your own unique piece of artwork.

What’s New In My Shop – Cafe Press

I am not currently working on any new items in the shop as to speak. Getting ready for the monthly Market at the local Fair Grounds and Exposition Buildings, in lovely Garden City, Idaho, takes a lot of time and effort when you’re a one-woman band.

However, we do have a new shop.  It is different from the jewelry I create.  Many Moons ago I designed and drew simple and stylized graphic versions of the Zodiac symbols for fun (and I admit, profit).  Having forgotten about them, I came across them searching through a computer disk looking for something else.  I love it when buried treasure appears out of no where!  Not wishing to attempt to stock the house with yet more stuff, but wanting to do something with them, I have opened a cafe press store.  You can find it by following the link in this post, or by clicking the “Shop Cafe Press” link in the menu to your right.

The cool thing about Cafe Press is that you can have pretty much any graphic printed on any item you want.  There is a huge selection to choose from on the site, from T-shirts to Teddy Bears, Wall Clocks, puzzles, and accessories abound!  All printed with the version of your Sun Sign.  All twelve signs may be found there and I intend to see about getting other items up for printing or customizing as well.  Currently working on a popular motif, Skulls, I’m sketching in a very stylized Rabbit…  Below are the twelve designs I created.  As public domain, any one may play with and finagle the images.  These are mine, and belong to me, and may only be used outside the sales or shop sites with the express written consent of The Alchemists Vessel and the owner, proprietor.

The Alchemists Vessel on Cafe PressAll twelve signs are included.  As soon as I figure out how to get these changed or configured to be appropriate art flash for dark material for the site, I’ll do that too. Right now they are available in Black Print on Light Shirts and Sweats.  Although there are all kinds of items in the shop, from Cell Phone covers to Lap top skins, stationery, stuffed critters, bits, baubles and decor.

The Zodiac beings with Aries.

Aries, the Ram – Symbol represents the Horns and nose of a Ram or the brows and nose of a human face

Taurus, the Bull – Symbol represents the Horns and head of a bull, or the chin and throat of the human form, it is also a representation on a rising moon over a full sun, or over the earth, depending on culture.

Gemini, the Twins – Symbol represents the lungs of the human body.

Cancer, the Crab – Symbol represents the out stretched claws of a crustacean.
Leo, the Lion – Symbol represents a sleeping cat, a lion in repose, the head, back and finally the tail.

Virgo, the Virgin – Symbol represents the female reproductive organs (closed). In some cultures it represents sheaves of wheat that have been harvested and bundled.
Libra, the Scales – Symbol represents a set of scales in balance,it is also the representation of the sun rising over a horizon.
Scorpio, the Scorpion – Symbol represents the male reproductive organs, it also mimics the movement of a Scorpion, the extended “swish” being the tail or stinger of the Scorpion.
Sagittarius, the Archer – Symbol represents the human knee in motion, or an arrow in flight.

Capricorn, the Sea Goat – Represents the head of a Goat and tail of Fish, sometimes called the Terrestrial Goat.

Aquarius, the Water Bearer – Symbol represents energy or flowing water

Pisces, the Fish – Symbol represents two fish, tied together.

A new offering from my own shop is this twist on Chain Maille.  Golden Spiral, is crafted from gold tone base metal jump rings, this continuous pattern spirals and twists throughout the bracelet.  Great for men or woman and comes in a variety of metals and jewelry wire, including, sterling silver plated, hypo-allergenic, gunmetal, copper and brass.

Being the crafty woman that I am, I like to hand make gifts sometimes. Not everything needs to be purchased, even though all Etsy gifts are hand made, and the idea is to provide you with unique and purchasable gift ideas, it might be fun to experiment yourself.  Although I am not sure if Cuff Links are in fashion any more, this is a simple, easy, low cost project.
Instructions:
Check out your local Thrift stores, they are a goldmine of unique and easy-on-the-wallet finds.  Look for a pair of unadorned, plain, flat face Cuff Links, make sure they are a complete set.
Once home, clean them up, if they need it, let them dry thoroughly.
With a small brush and a paint color of your choice. paint the face of both Cuff Links.
Add a design, his initials, a stencil you find interesting, dots, whatever suits your fancy (ladies, no flowers please).  Keep it small and simple.  Let your pieces dry thoroughly.  With some acrylic spray or brush-on sealer, (Clear Nail polish works in a pinch) lightly coat the surface of your Cuff Link Design (this will protect your design longer).
Once dry find a box, wrap them up and gift them!
(Picture is taken from image search on internet)

NOTE:  This would also make a fun project for the kids with plastic buttons or other things that they might like to personalize.
Thank you for stopping by and having a look at some of the beautiful things offered by people from around the web!
