One of my dearest friends is also an amazing and extremely talented artist.  Not only does he sculpt incredibly detailed and fabulous monsters, but he has several movie credits to his name as well, including Coraline,  Paranorman, and the Cult Classic, The Toxic Avenger.

Some of you have seen  his work, and probably not even realized it, as well as my personal collection of his art work that I post on occasion.

In My Studio – Fashion Colors for the Year

Good Morning,

Today I thought we might look at some of the things that drive the fashion industry, and like it or not, jewelry is part of that weird world of models and run ways.

This year the powers that be in the Fashion Industry have decided that Green is the must have color for 2013.  And not just any green, oh no, it has to be Emerald Green, a light, translucent and beautiful natural color.

Raw Emerald

Pantone, makers of Printers Ink even has a variation of the color.

The Alchemists Vessel is no stranger to this lovely color.  Not only is Emerald the owners Birthstone, it is also one of her favorite colors, and has been incorporated into some of the pieces created by Alixandra, long before the Fashion Industry said so.

Copper Cubed Byzantine Bracelet

Product Details:

Copper with a twist! This byzantine bracelet measures 7.5″ in length and is separated by 4 Japanese 8 in 2 cubes. The cubes are separated by 6mm Indian agates. The cubes and agate are strung on copper wire so that they can move freely on the piece for those of you who like to play with your jewelry. This piece is held secure with a handmade “S” clasp.

Celtic Visions bracelet

Product Details:

This bracelet is a sold sterling silver Celtic Visions weave chainmaille bracelet.  It is just over 8.5 inches long and is 1/4 inch wide.  Some of the rings have been hammered so that they catch the light better and have more sparkle than regular round-wire rings would have.

From Mithril Weaver – Josh doesn’t have much to say about himself on the site, but then again, I think his work speaks volumes.  This is amazing!

 Simply put – the best chainmaille foot bag available.  Made of aluminum and rubber rings.  Filled with plastic beads.  Weighs 1.5 oz.  2″ in diameter.  Orange rubber rings glowin the dark.
I play soccer and hacky sack.  I designed my footbags to perform perfectly.  They are easy to stall and perfectly symmetrical (unlike other foot bags out there).  Each foot bag has 422 individual rings and 60 beads.  They take me 3 hours to make.  The price is high, but you will get what you pay for.  All my products are guaranteed against breakage.  I will fix it for free if it breaks.  

From: Lupus Sux – This is a different artist.  Spelling in Chayn Mayle instead, this man has some truly unique pieces in his shop.  Married and forced to stay indoors due to his Lupus diagnosis, he is a self taught artisan with a lot of talent.

Orient Express Genuine Jade and Freshwater Pearls Necklace

This whimsical 7 x 5 collage of a brown and white cow is an original, one of a kind piece that would look great in a farm nursery. I created it using acylic paints on professional grade heavy watercolor paper. I added an additional 1/8″ white border to make it easier to frame. It comes unframed and unmatted, but I’ve shown what it would look like with various mat and frame colors in the photos above.

Flossie the Cow in Black and White

This adorable cow is based on my character, Flossie, in a community theater production of “Cinderella Confidential.”  I made one for each cast and crew member as an opening night gift, but they’re too cute to keep for just them.
The fabric is 100% black and white cotton.  The pink felt that forms the snout, yellow felt horns, and black and white felt ears and hooves are 100% polyester, as is the stuffing.
She does have pretty yellow button eyes, so she’s not for children under 3.
She’s approximately 6.5″ tall, not including the horns, and 5″ wide, not including the ears.
Hand sewn with care in a smoke-free, animal-friendly home.
