Geometric Broken Heart Pendant Necklace

 

A hand carved and handmade solid brass broken heart pendant on a brass plated stainless steel necklace. It has a lovely rustic and geometric shape that gives the heart a little edge. Great for every day and so fantastic as a layering necklace! – (See last photo).

The brass heart pendant measures approximately 1.6cm at its widest, and 1.5cm at the tallest point. The thickness of the pendant is approximately 0.6cm thick. The pendant overall circumference is slightly smaller than a nickel.The necklace has a clasp to easily put on and take off. The necklace measures 24 inches. If you need advice on the length of the necklace, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Please note that the secondary spike necklace is not included in the purchase, however is available for separate purchase in my store.

I got inspiration from all the Valentine’s Day items I was seeing all over the place. I figure this item definitely has a statement, and wanted to create a broken heart pendant that wasn’t sickly sweet. I wanted to create a geometric, rough and ready type of pendant to give it some edge. As I carved the item out of wax, I then manipulated the wax to give it more character, and a more geometric shape to it. I then had the wax piece cast into brass and polished it by hand to a high shine. 

Sterling Silver Bow Ring

Small sterling silver bow ring ready for everyday wear. This is handmade especially for you. The bow measures approximately 1/2” wide, and 1/4” tall. This ring size is a size 5. An excellent gift for someone you love or a friend. Do send me a message if you are hoping to receive a larger size. I should be able to grant this, but please message me first prior to ordering.

This bow ring also looks great as a stacking ring (please note the stacking rings shown in the photo are not included).

This bow ring was made through a found bow object, and then soldered the shape onto a ring. I then made a mold and had it cast in sterling silver. Once this process is complete, I then carefully polish the ring by hand to a high shine. 

Pyramid Stud Sterling Silver Ring

An edgy yet simple handmade sterling silver ring. Consists of a row of six pyramidal studs. Great or stacking or for wearing it on its own. Definitely a great statement ring, but with a simple and classic finish.

This was a difficult ring for me to make as I really wanted to give it symmetry. I had seen several stud rings around, but always something a little more dainty and feminine. This ring was hand carved out of wax… I did a lot of measuring to get the proportions correct! I had it cast in sterling silver, and then polished it to a high shine. I love the weight of this ring and it is as tough as it looks!

Reversible 2 in 1 Sterling Silver Ring

A versatile ring that gives you the ability to wear two different styles in one ring. Organically handmade with love with sterling silver in Brooklyn New York.

One side of the ring is a simpler and softer rounded side, and the other side is a more geometric triangular shape for a bit of an edgier look. Comfortable to wear and simple enough to wear every day. This ring can also be worn as a stacking ring.

I wanted to create a ring that is convertible and reversible. This would give the wearer the opportunity to wear two styles in one. If you need a quick change in style, just flip this ring around! I made the ring shapes comfortable enough to wear in any way. This item was created and carved with wax, and then cast into sterling silver, and then polished to a high shine. If you need versatility, this is what you are looking for.

Friday is here and the weekend is sneaking up on me.  

Once in a while I come across something that looks interesting or useful, and since most of us have a limited or extremely tight budget these days free stuff is always good.

Wix is a free on-line web site builder.  They also offer “Premium” accounts that I would guess are very expensive as there are no fees listed anywhere.  Free sites may include “Wix ads”.

Yolasite is also a free website builder, they offer domains, and other services as well, have a pricing guide and have a 1-800 customer service / help line and claim Free Sites are also Ad-free.  Check out other offerings on the Features page.

Red Cross – Hurricane Sandy Donations

You can donate $10.00 with your phone, you can donate via iTunes (which is weird), and you can find out what’s going on in your local area for the Disaster Relief.  You can donate to a general fund (a much better idea), or earmark the donation for Hurricane Sandy or give blood at one of you local banks as the Red Cross is sorely in need.

You may also want to check out your local charities, and see if they are not taking, clothes, blankets, toys, household items for those in need and affected by Hurricane Sandy.

 Hello and welcome ~ My name is April. I am a glass bead maker and jewelry designer. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York gives me the style and flair unique to my jewelry. I’ve always been intrigued with glass. When I was young I remember seeing glass artists along the Coney Island boardwalk. I loved seeing the sparkling delicate sculptures they made. Today I am pleased create my own glass beads and incorporate them in my jewelry designing. I use a technique called “lampworking” to make my glass beads.

Be Lucky – Featrued Artists, Wednesday

Wednesday arrives and so to does a new shop.  Hey Be Lucky.
I have been so busy this week that I have not had time to organize a Studio post, so this week will be devoted to featured Artists and their work.

Hey Be Lucky is owned by Teriell and Olivia, from Talinn, Estonia. Olivia is the artists and Teriell the muscle!  They work in concert to create and bring Olivia’s drawings to life.

Rarely do I gush, but I love this woman’s art style, cute, whimsical and brings a fun flair to the unique jewelry, cards, and prints of her work.

You all know I have this thing about White Rabbits, and squirrels, and foxes, and I am in trouble!

The full title of the painting is “If my Thought Dreams Could be Seen, They’d Probably Put my Head in a Guillotine”, which is a line from a Bob Dylan song. The painting is 5ft x 6ft and it portrays a statement on the treatment of women in modern society and how their looks are valued more than their thoughts and opinions. The print is on glossy photo paper and is 8.5in x 11in.

I handmade this lovely necklace with ivory glass pearls. The beautiful pendant is made of a black resin rose set on a non-tarnish fine silver-plated metal base. I finished the necklace with a silver plated lobster clasp.

-The necklace measures approx. 45.5cm (17.91”) from one end to the other in a straight line.
The pendant is 3.5cm (1.38”) long and the resin rose measures 3cm (1.18”).

-The earring will fall 3.3cm (1.30 inches) from your piercing. I handcraft this beautiful pair using black resin rose flowers, set on silver plated ear posts. I wire wrapped the roses and pearls with silver plated wire.

Holiday Ornament Red Sled with Penguins

Studio Syllabus for Today

Happy Wednesday,

Here we are the middle of the week, not quite the weekend and almost too late to start a work week project.  Today’s post is short and sweet as I suddenly find myself with a multitude of things going on and all kinds of doings which require my attention.

Let’s have a look at what I have been doing.  I offer a variety of  Chainmaille items, from Earrings to Watches and most stuff in between, and tried a new way to bead the Full Persian Weave and I am most happy with it.  Reminiscent of the “Dragons Back” pattern, “Leap Frog” incorporates one bead at alternating intervals down the length of chain.  Flexible for a comfortable fit,  substantial enough to make a nice statement piece, so in fashion this season.

This pattern is available in bracelets and watch bands, they are not heavy but do have a little weight.  Customizable in your favorite metal and bead color of choice.

Dragon’s Back:  Shown with Emerald Czech glass beads silver-lined beads and Silver plated jump rings.

Beads are grouped together and ungulate through the chain.

Marching or Walking Beads

Beads walk across the surface of the chain.
